Republic Colombia Monetary unit is peso which consists from 100 centavo. In a cash turn-over there are coins of denomination 50, 100, 200, 500 peso.

In 1967 coins have been entered into Colombia 1 and 5 centavo from a copper-plated steel, coins 10, 20 and 50 centavo from a Nickel-plated steel and Copper-Nickel coins 1 peso. 2 centavo have terminated a coin to manufacture in 1960. In 1977 bronze coins 2 peso have been entered. In 1984 production of all coins in nominal value below 1 peso has been terminated.

Coins of following dignities have been manufactured in high inflation: a coin 5 peso - in 1980, then a coin 10 peso - in 1981, 20 peso - in 1982, 50 peso - in 1986, 100 peso - in 1992, 200 peso - in 1994, 500 peso - in 1993 and 1000 peso - in 1996. However, in connection with a mass fake of a coin 1000 peso, it has been laid off.
