Metal krones and a Ore - modern coins of Norway

Kingdom Norway Monetary unit is the krone which consists from 100 Ore. In monetary circulation there are coins in nominal value to 50 Ore and 1, 5, 10, 20 krones.

Last coined golds of Norway have been manufactured in 1910. During German occupation in the Second World War, in a material of coins 10, 25 and 50 Ore zinc instead of a Copper-Nickel has been used, and production of a coin of 1 krone is suspended.

In 1963 the coin of 5 krones has been entered, and in 1972 production of coins to 1 and 2 Ore have terminated. In 1973 the size of a coin to 5 Ore has contracted, with the termination of their production in 1982, along with coins to 25 Ore. The coin of 10 krones has been manufactured in 1983. Between 1994 and 1998 years, the new coins consisting from 50 Ore have been entered into the circulation, 1, 5, 10 and 20 krones.

On coins of 10 and 20 krones the portrait of the monarch of Norway is represented. Earlier the portrait of the monarch was present also on coins of 1 and 5 krones, but now these nominal values are issued only with use of stylistic royal national symbols. The royal motto of the monarch (the motto of king Haralda is Alt for Norge - All for Norway) also is rapped out on a coin of 10 krones.
