Metal korunas and haliers - modern coins of Czech Republic

Czech Republic Monetary unit is the koruna which consists of 100 haliers. In monetary circulation there are coins of denomination of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 korunas.

The Czech Republic is member country the European union .

In 1993 in Czech Republic of denomination coins have been entered into 10, 20 and 50 haliers, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 korunas. All coins in haliers have been rapped out from aluminium, 1, 2 and 5 korunas from a Nickel-plated steel, 10 korunas from a copper-plated steel, 20 korunas from a brass-plated steel and 50 korunas - bimetallic (the center from a brass-plated steel, a ring from a copper-plated steel). In connection with reduction of buying power from the circulation coins of 10 and 20 haliers - on October, 31st, 2003, and coins of 50 haliers - on August, 31st, 2008 have been withdrawn. Now in circulation there are coins 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 korunas. On face sides of all coins the plotting of a lion from the Czech arms, on undersides - nominal value is seated.

In Czech Republic there was a tradition of issue of memorable coins - including silver and gold - in the numismatical purposes. For example, in 2000 coins of 10 and 20 korunas, with the various plotting in honour of the Millennium are rapped out.
