Kingdom Tonga Monetary unit is the pa'anga (dollar of Tonga) which consists from 100 senitis (cents). In circulation there are coins in nominal values 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 both 50 senitis and 1 pa'anga.

In 1967 coins of denomination 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 both 50 senitis and 1 pa'anga have been manufactured. Coins 1 and 2 senitis were minted from bronze with cupronickel impurity. Coins 50 senitis and 1 pa'anga have been manufactured by short run. The coin 1 pa'anga had the unusual form of a rectangle with the rounded off edges. In 1974 stamping of a dihexagonal coin 50 senitis has begun.

On obverses of the first series of coins the portrait of queen Salote Tupou III has been rapped out. On reverses huge turtles, sheaves and stars have been represented. Since 1968 on coins began to mint a portrait of king Taufa'ahau Tupou IV in the military form, the person forward. Since 1975 all coins bear a word "Tonga" on face side and an inscription "Fakalahi meakai" ("to manufacture more foodstuff") and the name on the back.

Coins 1 and 2 senitis by degrees leave the circulation, in connection with constant inflation about 10 % annual. The prices in shops, as a rule, are approximated to the proximate 5 or 10 senitis, as a rule in the big party.
