National monetary unit of Republic Japan is the yen which is equal to 100 sen. In circulation there are coins in nominal value 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 500 yens.

The Coin 1 yen is produced of 100 % of aluminium. On a Copper-Nickel coin of denomination of 500 yens of issue of 1982 the Paulownia flower, on a coin in 100 yens of issue of 1962 - an Oriental cherry flower, on a coin in 50 yens of issue of 1967 - a chrysanthemum flower, on bronze coins in 10 yens of issue of 1959 - a hall the Phoenix of a monastery Bedoin, on 5 yens of issue of 1959 - a rice ear, and on an aluminium coin in 1 yen of issue of 1955 - the symbolical plotting of a sapling is represented.
