Monetary unit of Iraq is the dinar which is equal to 1000 filses. Since 2004 of a coin 50 and 100 dinars are manufactured by dignity 25. In connection with coin inflation in filses are introduced from the circulation.

Since October, 15th on January, 2003th and 15, 2004 the administration of the Time coalition enters new dinars Iraq Into the period - coins and notes, with use of modern methods of struggle from a fake, for creation of the common currency which will be used in all regions of Iraq, and also will make money more convenient for use in an everyday life of people.

Coins of Iraq have been entered in 1931-32 in nominal values 1, 2, 4, 10, 20, 50 and 200 filses. 20, 50 and 200 filses were minted from silver. In 1953 silver coins in 100 filses have been manufactured. After creation of the Iraq Republic a new series of coins in nominal value in 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 filses has been manufactured. Coins in 25, 50 and 100 filses in silver were manufactured till 1969. In 1970 the coin is entered into 250 filses, in 1982 - 500 filses and 1 dinar. Issue of coins has been terminated after 1990. In 2004 new coins have been entered into 25, 50 and 100 dinars. Nevertheless, these coins have appeared unpopular and are removed from the circulation.
