Slovakia is an exhibiting country the European Union . Monetary unit - euro - to equal 100 eurocents.
Till January, 1st, 2009 crowns - to equal 100 haliers were cash token moneys of Slovakia. A nominal number of the native currency of Slovakia has been presented by notes of denomination of 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 and 5000 crowns.
Slovakia throughout 4 centuries was under power Gabsburgov, being a part of Austro-Hungary. And only as a result of the First World War has found independence. In October, 1918 Czechia was aggregated with Slovakia having created a new independent state - Czechoslovakia.
The Czechoslovak krone is entered into 1919 (the law from February, 25th, 1919) by rubber stamping of notes of Austro-Hungarian bank. Rubber stamping has been spent in territory of Czechia and Moravia in March, 1919, in territory of Slovakia - in October, 1920 the Law from April, 10th, 1919 stamped notes (and also coins and notes in 1 and 2 crowns which were not stamped) have been recognised by a lawful legal tender in Czechoslovak Republic.
The Czechoslovak krone till November, 1929 had no fixed gold content. The krone exchange rate was defined in relation to Swiss franc. In November, 1929 the currency restrictions acting since the First World War have been cancelled, and free convertibility of a Czechoslovak krone is entered into foreign exchanges and gold. On October, 2nd, 1931 convertibility of a krone was currency restrictions are cancelled and again entered.
In days of fascist occupation in connection with a country partition in its territory krones Protectorate of Czechia and Moravia, Slovak krones, DM, Hungarian a penge, the Polish zlotys addressed. After clearing of the country from October, 29th till November, 4th, 1945 the people's democratic government has spent currency reform. Old token moneys interchanged on new krones within 500 krones on one person on a parity 1:1.
As the uniform state Czechoslovakia has existed up to 1993. C the krone has been entered into the circulation on February, 8th, 1993
