Monetary unit of Lebanon is the Lebanese lira which has one more name - the Lebanese pound. However "pound" local residents do not use the name, and apply a word "lira". It is not forbidden to import and remove both local liras, and foreign money, it is possible to do it without any restrictions, and currency declarations on border do not make out.
Symbol - LL . One Lebanese pound makes 100 piastres. Among paper moneys in circulation there are denominations 1000, 5000, 10000, 20000, 50000, 100000 pounds. The currency of Lebanon contains the plotting of landscapes, people, architecture monuments, and also the text in the Arabian language and an ornament. New notes which have been manufactured in 2011, differ from already existing only high degree of protection. So, all denominations are protected by a watermark in the form of a cedar, and also have a protective thread which passes on the right side from the center, and denominations of denomination of 50000 and 100000 pounds are supplied by protective holographic strips.
In the center of notes in nominal values in 50000 and 100000 liras on face side figures "50000" and 100000 accordingly close up are represented. On a 50-thousand denomination the plotting of a fishing boat, and on other party - geometrical drawing is seated also. On the back of a denomination in 100000 pounds there is stylised plotting of a grapevine, cereals and a spindle. Prevailing colours of the 50-thousand note - blue, dark blue and yellow, the 100-thousand note - turquoise, it is light - also dark green.
Except the Lebanese pound, in territory of Lebanon it is in circulation equal in rights the American dollar participates. Everywhere accept both pounds, and dollars, also at will of the payer it is possible to be paid back in kind any of these currencies.
