The Afghani, modern money of Afghanistan, not always were monetary unit of the this state, and have occurbed in a turn-over in 1929. Till this time in Afghanistan there was uneasy enough monetary system. So, the Kabul rupee, which some more small coins was considered as a main coin. Only in 1978. Afghani have been recognised by unique official currency of Afghanistan. 1 Afghani makes 100 pulas.
On territory of the country in the cash circulation there are notes of denomination 1000, 500, 100, 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1 Afghani.
Afghani are among token moneys which are considered not protected. According to customs of Islam, on denominations there are no portraits, there are only inscriptions and national drawings. So, for example, on face side of a denomination 1 Afghani is the National bank seal. On other party the Blue mosque and the mausoleum Ali in Mazar-i-Sharif are presented. One of protection frames of denominations are served by a watermark in the form of a mosque. The protective thread is on the left side.
That fact is interesting that Afghani are produced at the Russian factories Goznaka, and of the same paper, as the American dollars.
In the state two rates of Afghani are positioned. The first is defined by the Kabul Central bank, and other - "northern" Central bank. According to the this rates the cashless currency in the banks belonging to the government of Talibs or "northerners" interchanges.
The Note of denomination in 1000 Afghani has orange colour in the basis. On face side, the plotting of the Blue Mosque in Mazar-i-Sharif, a bank seal and a holographic strip, on the back - in the center the Mausoleum Ahmad Shaha Durrani in Kandahar on the right is seated. The size of a denomination - 156 x 66 mm.
