Monetary unit of Democratic Republic Sao Tome and Principe is dobra, the component of 100 centimos and manufactured by Central bank of Sao Tome and Principe.
Dobra the Sao Tome and Principe it is entered on July, 2nd, 1977 instead of the Portuguese overseas escudo manufactured by National dominion and colonial bank in Lisbon for the former colonial territories (Sao Tomes and Principes have found independence in December, 1974). Currency exchange regulation and all accounts in a foreign exchange are carried out by central bank to which the gain from export of goods and services should be handed over.
