Republic Madagascar Monetary unit is the ariaries, to equal 100 centimes and manufactured Central bank of Madagascar.
Since 1900 a lawful legal tender on Madagascar were notes of Bank of France. After declaration of independence in June, 1960 between Malagasy Republic and France the agreement on which basis the right to create own currency was granted Malagasy Republic has been entered into. The Face side of the note in nominal value 100 ariaries is decorated by the plotting of plants and island Madagascar landscapes, on the back the this note the mountain the Sugar Head towering over a coil of Antsiranana is represented. The note is mainly coloured in dark blue and grey colours.
The Face side of a denomination in nominal value 200 ariaries contains the plotting of entry gate in the village possessed on high plateau, the note turn-over is decorated by the plotting of a sculpture of Alualu. Primary colours of the this note are green and ochre.
On face side of a denomination of denomination in 500 ariaries (primary colours - brown and orange) the plotting of the handicraftsman behind work is seated, and the herd of a zebu on the back is represented.
