Monetary unit of Angola is the kwanza making 100 centimos and manufactured by the National bank of Angola. Now in the cash circulation there are notes of denomination of 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000 kwanzas.
Notes in kwanzas have been manufactured on January, 8th, 1977 and interchanged on a parity 1: 1 on token moneys in the Angola escudos which have in turn replaced since January, 1st, 1959 token moneys in the angolyars, addressing since September, 1926
All modern token moneys of Angola have been manufactured after denomination of 2000, and a denomination of denomination of 200, 500, 1000 and 2000 kwanzas have occurbed in 2003 Cuanza has the international designation - AOA and an interstate designation - Kzr .
The Native currency is named in honour of the Angola river Cuanza. The face side of a denomination in nominal value of 200 kwanzas, having the sizes 158 x 66 mm and coloured mainly in violet and green colours, is decorated by Antonio Augustino Netto and Jose Eduardo Dush-Santusha's double portrait, and also a national ornament. The identical plotting is seated on face sides of notes of other nominal values. On the back notes of the this nominal value the harbour and kind plotting to Luanda (capital of Angola) is seated. The note of denomination in 500 kwanzas has the sizes 161 x 66 mm and is coloured mainly in yellow and green colours. Differs the plotting of a plantation of a clap on the back. On the back of a denomination in nominal value of 1000 kwanzas (the size - 164 x 66 mm, primary colours are red and orange) the plantation plotting also is seated.
For protection of authenticity of notes of all indicated nominal values on them the watermarks which are looking like a sculpture, and a protective strip on which retried microtext BNA is possessed are put.
Antonios Augustino Netto and Jose Eduardo Dush-Santush consistently holding a post of the president of Angola are represented together (Antonio Augustino Netto in the foreground, and Jose Eduardo Dush-Santush behind it) on face side of notes of the native currency since 1984 T design was saved even after numerous state currency reforms.
